Obituary of Beulah Fay Provost

Beulah Fay Provost, age 86, passed away Friday May 4, 2018. She was born to Edward Lawrence Powers and Altus Vera Moon on October 12, 1931 in Port Arthur, Texas.

Beulah was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was her first priority. She was the glue that bound the family. Beulah loved to laugh. Her dancing and beautiful singing voice was an activity that entertained her grandchildren. She was always happy to see and welcome anyone. Offering a wonderful home cooked tasty meal was Beulah’s way of sharing her love. Bowling was one of her favorite pastimes for 35 years with her daughter, Denise. Beulah was a faithful servant who was a lifelong charter member of North Hardin Baptist Church in Silsbee, Texas. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her but her legacy will continue on.

Preceding Beulah in death are her parents, Edward Lawrence Powers and Altus Vera Moon; husband of 70 years, Jack J. Provost; sisters, Lola Duda, Rita Deal; brothers, Hershel Powers, Donnie Powers; grandson, Michael Dale Richey.

Left to honor Beulah’s memory are her sons, Michael A. Provost and wife, Sandra, of Kenner, LA, Jerome P. Provost and wife, Lisa, of Lone Oak, TX, Jack Provost Jr. “Zeke” and wife, Sharon, of Sour Lake, TX; daughters, Sandra K. Kirbow of Lumberton, Lucinda “Cindy” West of Lumberton, Denise Eddings and husband, Wayne, of Silsbee; brother Tommy Ray Powers and wife, Rosie, Andalusia, AL; 15 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends and family Monday May 7, 2018 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 N. 4th St. Silsbee, TX 77656. A life honoring funeral service will be held Tuesday May 8, 2018, 4:00 pm at North Hardin Baptist Church 11574 FM 92, Silsbee, TX 77656, officiated by Reverend Mike Anderson and Reverend Vance Cawley.  Internment at R.S. Farmer Cemetery Silsbee, TX. A luncheon will be hosted by North Hardin Baptist Church for family and friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers are Kavan Wise, Tristan Wise, Talyn Wise, Justin Coleson, Zachary Tiner and Jason Little.   Honorary pallbearers are Rylan Dailey, Reese Rodgers, AJ Lafountain and Blake Tiner.
