Obituary of Donald Woodrow Belt, Sr.

Donald Woodrow Belt, Sr., 80, of Kountze, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 14, 2018. He was the owner and operator of the Don Belt Company, a utility construction company with six locations, where he employed his family. He was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. He enjoyed hunting at his camp in Colmesneil, TX; he referred to it as "God's Country." He loved playing his guitar. He was an extremely strong family man, and he was always there to take care of his family and friends. One of his sayings was "Trust God first, me second, and the rest can try to keep up." He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Mary Belt and brother, John Noel Belt.

 He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Ann Belt of Kountze; children, Donald W. Belt Jr. and wife Carla of Lumberton, Darrell Ray Belt and wife Melinda of Wildwood, Diana Lynn Brown and husband Daniel of Kountze; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and brother, Joe Belt and wife Sherry of Colmesneil.

 His family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 N. 4th Street, Silsbee, TX.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., at Crestwood Baptist Church, 1150 Highway 69 S, Kountze, TX 77625, officiated by Reverend Larry Staggs and Pastor Jeff Lowe. Interment will follow at Mann Cemetery in Colmesneil, at 2:00 p.m.

 Serving the family as pallbearers will be Steven Belt, T.J. Richard, Sheldon Hardy, Tony Bramblett Jr., Chad Hawthorne and Stephen Gerhard.

 Honorary pallbearers will be Ashlee Langdone, Colton Reese and Cade Richard.
