Obituary of Arline Caroline Lastovica

Arline Caroline Lastovica, 92, of Lumberton, TX, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Arline was born in Arneckeville, TX in 1925, and moved to Lumberton in 1966.

Arline loved to tell anyone that she met “My name is Arline, but everyone calls me Tommie because I am a Tomboy.” Tommie was a devoted wife and mother to her children, a loving grandmother to her grandchildren and a devoted member of Infant Jesus Catholic Church. Tommie always had an open heart and a kind smile for anyone that she met. She was sincerely compassionate and shared her kindness with everyone. She was an active member of infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton. Tommie had an undying love for her God and was devout in her faith.

She loved to spend time with her family and was forever ready to gather together with them on an occasion. She was known by all as an incredible cook (famous for her donuts), an avid gardener and loved sports. She never missed a game of any of her kids or grandkids, and on game day would say her prayers early so she could catch the Astros later.

She will be deeply missed. All who loved her know that she has taken her rightful place seated by her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Druey “Bob” Lewis; second husband, Louis Lastovica; son, Bob Lewis; parents, Raymond and Leona Hans; siblings, Bill Hans, Larry Hans, Joe Hans, Rosie Richard and Joyce Wetuski.

She is survived by her children, Pat Fancher and husband, John of Highlands, TX, Kathy Vondenstein and husband Perman of Mont Belvieu, TX, Sandra Klontzakis and husband Manolis of Lumberton, Margaret Becker and husband Wes of Fischer, TX, Jim Lewis and wife Julie of Crosby, Theresa Franks and husband Mark of Lumberton, Rick Lewis and wife Galus Halasz of Brooklyn, NY, and Joyce Self of Silsbee, TX; daughter-in-law, Sharron Lewis of Spring, TX; 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren; brother, John Hans and wife Emiko of Houston as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
