Obituary of Lanny Dale Kelly

Lanny "Jake" Dale Kelly, 55, of Buna, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Jake was born to Weldon Sr. and Diane Kelly on December 6, 1962. He was the second of three sons. Jake graduated from Buna High School in 1981. He worked for the Texas Forest Service for several years, and he later opened his own auto paint and body shop. Jake was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved and spent most of his time outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Weldon Kelly Sr. and Diane Kelly of Buna; brothers, Weldon Kelly Jr. (Sheri) of Buna, and Jeffrey Kelly of Buna; daughters, Melody Campbell (Dennis) of Silsbee, and Holly Gathright (Chris) of Buna; grandchildren, Kayla Campbell, Allison Campbell and Trevor Campbell of Silsbee, Mallori Anderson, Laci Gathright, and Natali Gathright of Buna. Jake is preceded in death by his grandparents, Morris & Rubye Wood and Dorsey & Willie Bea Kelly. 

His family will receive friends on Monday, July 9, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 N. 4th Street, Silsbee, TX. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Bean Cemetery, Kirbyville, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis W. Campbell, Chris W. Gathright, Terry Kelly, Billy Simmons, Chris Y’barbo, Dennis L. Campbell and Robert Stephens. Honorary pallbearer will be Trevor Campbell.
