Obituary of Fred E. Yount, Jr.

Fred E. Yount, Jr., 76, of Kountze, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Fred was born October 12, 1941 in Natchitoches Parish, LA. When he was a small child, his family moved to Buna, where he grew up. He worked for a while as a deputy for Harris County, eventually working his way up to lieutenant. Fred later became the Pastor at Lakeview Baptist Church of Vidor. Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sr., and Hazel Yount; daughters, Sharon Burgess, Linda Smith, and an infant son.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Joy Yount of Kountze; son, Dan Northcutt and wife, Dusty of Corinth, TX; step-daughter, Dawn Rosignal and husband Ron of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Ruby Ruggles and husband, Johnny of Silsbee, Carolyn Galvitz and husband, Charles of Deer Park, Tommy Yount and wife, Edna of Baytown, Gloria Johnson and husband Cecil of Houston, Patsy Johnson and husband Steve of Dallas; special friends and neighbors, James and Lorie Wright of Kountze; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Wiley Mae Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend C. W. Lawrence.
