Obituary of James Edward Powell

James Edward Powell, 65, of Houston, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born October 16, 1952, in Houston, TX. He was a welder by trade and worked for a time with his Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Leonard at Modern Welding of Beaumont. He enjoyed cooking and taking care of his dogs. James was always willing to share all that he had. He was kind to everyone around him. James had a good heart and a great sense of humor.

James is preceded in death by his parents, David E. Powell, Sr. and Bernice Williford Powell; brothers, Clifton Powell, William Powell and Robert Powell.

James is survived by his brothers, David Powell, Jr. and wife Carol of Spring, TX, and Timothy Powell and wife, Angela of Kilgore, TX; aunt, Carolyn Williford of Kountze, TX, who was always there for him with love and support and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

His family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home, on Monday, July 9, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m,. with Pastor Robert Hall officiating. Interment will be at Fellowship Cemetery in Warren, TX.
