Obituary of Tharp "Bud" Jenkins

Tharp “Bud” Jenkins, 78, of Silsbee, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018. He worked as a logger and a welder for most of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing. If he had a fishing pole in his hands, he was happy. He was a loving father and a great family man. He loved spending his time with his grandbabies. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roe and Maudie Jenkins and sisters, Tiny Wilson and Dolly Hollifield.

Bud is survived by his wife, Nerveline Jenkins of Fred; sons, John Larry Jenkins, Sr. and wife Marsha of Shattuc, IL, Tommy Roe Jenkins and wife, Chandra of Silsbee, and Danny Wayne Jenkins and wife, Trisha of Silsbee; grandchildren, John Jenkins, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Jonesboro, AR, Brenda Jenkins of Peoria, IL, Christina Jenkins of Peoria, IL, Johnathon Jenkins of Silsbee, Shannon Blackwell and husband Colt of Lumberton, Coltan Jenkins of Fred, Dillon Jenkins of Silsbee, Conner Jenkins of Silsbee, Hunter Jenkins of Silsbee, and Bobbie Ann Wood of Lawrenceville, IL; great-grandchildren, Spring, Autumn, and Walker; siblings, Monroe Jenkins of Silsbee, Hank Jenkins of Town Bluff, and Thelma Clower and husband, Jimmy of Fred; half-brother, Steve Harville of Fred.

His Family will receive friends at Chapel in the Pines Church of Spurger on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Chapel in the Pines Church of Spurger, officiated by Reverend Elmer Eddings and Reverend Mitchell Gore. Interment will follow at Fred Community Cemetery.
