Obituary of Marissa Kae Gilchriest

Miss Marissa Kae Gilchriest, age 16, of Orange and formerly of Fred, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Tyler County, Texas.

Marissa was born February 1, 2002, in Beaumont and had been a longtime resident of the Fred area as well as Orange County. She was a high school sophomore.

Very outgoing, Marissa had a smile that was contagious and she had a great love for her family and friends.  Marissa also received great blessings from gospel music and enjoyed going to singings, especially with the Stanleys, along with other road trips with her friends.  Photography was one of Marissa’s favorite hobbies, especially taking selfies along with photos with her niece Mia and her dog Millie.

Her survivors include her mother and step-father, Adriane and Heath Lonidier of Orange County, formerly of Fred; two sisters, Kallie Gilchriest and Tabitha Gilchriest and Kristopher Cornell, all of Orange; niece, Mia Gilchriest of Orange; half-brother, James Gilchriest and wife Debbie of Silsbee; half-sister, Charlene Fountain and husband Gathan of Fred; her grandmother, Judy Harris of Silsbee; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Webster Gilchriest; and grandfather, Lynn Harris.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at New Covenant Assembly of God Church, located at 1470 North Fifth Street in Silsbee. Interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at New Covenant Assembly of God Church
