Obituary of Phyllis Jackqueline Dean

Mrs. Phyllis “Jackie” Dean, age 70, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at a Houston hospital.

Jackie was born and raised in Silsbee, TX.  She graduated from Silsbee High School before attending business vocational school.  She met the love of her life, James Dean of Silsbee, and they were married on March 10, 1971.  Jackie and James were married for over 47 years and made their home in Silsbee, TX.

Jackie was a very devoted wife and aunt.  Jackie was a faithful member of Word of Life Church in Silsbee, TX, for 27 years. Affectionately known at her church and with many as “Aunt” Jackie, she loved her church family and they loved her! She will be greatly missed, but we have a hope that we will see her again.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents William Isaiah Pearce and Georgetta Pearce Nesbitt, sister-in-law Paula Nesbitt, two brothers-in-law, Dudley Boring & Billy Jack Coplen, nephews Eric & Benjamin Lazenby, & Billy Jay Coplen.

She is survived by her husband James Dean of Silsbee, her ray of sunshine & special niece Heather Brown & husband Kevin Brown, sisters Sharon Coplen of Silsbee, Donna Boring of Silsbee, Jorena Cravey & husband Prentice Cravey of Silsbee, Betty Carrell & husband Marvin of Fred, Karon Bryan & husband Delbert of Silsbee, Wilma Lazenby & husband Johnny of Silsbee, Cheryl Martindale and husband David of Buna, Charles Nesbitt & wife Laura of Silsbee, & many more nephews & nieces.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Farmer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Shellye Thompson, Pastor Tommy Thompson and Reverend Jason Boudreaux officiating. Interment will follow at Tulip Cemetery in Athens, LA at 4:00 p.m.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Rusty Eaves, Eugene Kirkindoll, Dudley Mitchell, Daryl Worsham, Kevin Bryan and David Cude. Honorary pallbearers are Isiah Lazenby and Chris Nesbitt.
