Obituary of Matt Luna

Matt Luna, age 70, of Silsbee, Texas passed away Thursday, October 5, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born April 5, 1948, in Nacogdoches, Texas, Mr. Luna had been a lifelong resident of the Silsbee area and attended Highway 92 North Church of Christ. He retired from Energy Pipeline. Matt was an outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish, and was a Little League baseball coach in Silsbee for many years.

Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Mary Luna; a grandson, Ross Lightfoot; and son-in-law, Donald Thompson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Gayle Luna of Silsbee, Texas; his son, Ron Luna, and daughters, Gayle Lightfoot, Lisa Thompson, all of Silsbee, Texas; grandchildren, Victoria Lightfoot, Kevin Lightfoot, Colby Thompson, and Dylan Thompson; a great-grandson, Kannon Thompson; brothers, Paul Luna and wife Erni of Tyler, Texas, John Luna of Silsbee, Texas, and Leslie Luna and wife Kayla of Silsbee, Texas; a sister, Agnes Luna of Nacogdoches, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Farmer Funeral Home chapel with Blake Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, located on Third Street in Silsbee, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Colby Thompson, Dylan Thompson, Kevin Lightfoot, Brad Miers, Blaine Luna, Nathan Luna, and Colby LeBlanc.
