Obituary of Vera Jack Young

Mrs. Vera Jack Young, age 84, of Evadale, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018, in Jasper, Texas.

Mrs. Young was born November 27, 1933, to parents Emmit Harris and Edna (Moss) Harris and had been a lifelong resident of the Evadale area. She retired from the Evadale Independent School District after several years of service in the cafeteria and custodial departments. Vera’s life revolved around her family—Family was #1 to her above all else.

Her survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey and Debbie Burnett of Evadale, Texas, and Bobby and Diane Thompson of Silsbee, Texas; grandson, Joedy Burnett and wife Amanda of Evadale, Texas; granddaughter, Jenny Kieser and husband Jimmy of Beaumont, Texas; great-grandchildren, Hanna Burnett, Chase Burnett, Blayne Burnett, Brenden Burnett, McKenna Burnett, Julianna Kieser, James Kieser III, and Trey Murphy; and a great-great-granddaughter, Zoey Lee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, T.J. Burnett; and her siblings, Jewitt Harris, Lurline Wright, VJ Harris, and Levenia Phillips.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roger Hoogterp officiating. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery on County Road 777 near Buna, Texas.
