Obituary of Sidney Taylor Parks

Mr. Sidney Taylor Parks, 87, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in Silsbee. Mr. Parks was born January 10, 1931, in Silsbee to parents Bernard Parks and Maudie Ray Fuqua Parks.

Sidney was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He avidly enjoyed gardening and tended a large garden and orchard. Each year, he found joy in generously sharing his crops with friends, family, and neighbors. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and hobby farming. He raised and processed many farm animals, making homemade sausage, bacon, and meats. His family has many good memories of spending time with him at Toledo bend as he taught the children how to fish for perch. A favorite family activity was having fish fries at his camp on the Neches River.

Sidney served his country in the U.S. Army for 6.5 years. Stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Dora. They were wed in Germany before she came to America, where they were happily married for 46 years until her passing. Sidney will be greatly missed by many.
