Obituary of Lila Loftin

Mrs. Lila Loftin of Fred, Texas, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018, at her residence at the age of 87 years, 8 months, 24 days.

Mrs. Loftin was born February 12, 1931, in Kountze, Texas, to parents Cheatom Gordon and Bessie Haynes Gordon.  She had been living in her neighborhood near Fred, Texas, for more than 50 years.

Lila was always a hard worker, no matter what task was at hand. She especially enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of the chickens. Lila had a great love of fishing and going to the casinos. Her loved ones were very important to Lila and she found great pleasure in entertaining them and spending time with her family and friends.

Her survivors include her husband of 44 years, Ricky Lynn Loftin of Fred, Texas; daughters, Elaine Eason and husband John of Fred, Texas, Elois Jenkins and husband Hank of Dam B, Texas, and Nancy Eason of Dam B, Texas; a sister, Nola Whitmire of Silsbee, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cheatom and Bessie Gordon; daughters, Betty Ann Harville and Billie Jean Eason; a brother, Lawrence Gordon; and a sister, Mildred Treadway.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lavoy Eason officiating. Interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, located on FM 92 south of Fred, Texas.

Pallbearers: Jacob Eason, John Roe Jenkins, Bud Eason Jr., Ryan John Gordon, Troy Hollyfield, and Adrian Hollyfield.
