Obituary of Hazel Juanita Murphy

Hazel Juanita Murphy of Warren, Texas, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at Silsbee Convalescent Center at the age of 82 years, 2 months, 18 days.

Mrs. Murphy was born October 3, 1936, in Silsbee, Texas, and was a 1953 graduate of Silsbee High School. She was a longtime resident of the area before moving to Tyler County, Texas, a few years ago. A member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for a number of years, she had most recently been a member of Warren’s Bethel Baptist Church.

She retired from Wal-Mart, Silsbee, after several years of service. Hazel had a great love for cooking and making no one went without food. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, loving to take care of her family.

Her survivors include her husband, Thomas Mann of Warren, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Robert Clark of Newton, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Faye Murphy of Dallas, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tammy Murphy of Bronson, Texas; sister, Donna Simonton of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, David Brunner Brandy Mize, Jess Murphy, Erica Lena, Krystan Childress, and Zack Murphy; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Murphy; parents, Rena and B.J. Howell; and sisters, Glenda Curtice and Nova Dee White.

Graveside services are set for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Antioch Cemetery, located on FM 1004 near Buna, Texas, with Bro. Allen Fruge officiating.
