Obituary of Lillian Whitmire

Lillian “Jean” Whitmire, 89, of Evadale, passed away Friday December 21, 2018. She was a member of the Evadale Eastern Star Chapter 1111, and enjoyed traveling around with them when she was able. She liked to shop and she was a great cook who knew how to fix just about anything. Jean was a homemaker and keeping a clean house was very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband H, J, “Pete” Whitmire; parents, Henry and Elizabeth McGalin; brothers, Harvey McGalin, and Charlie McGalin; sisters, Sarah Griffis, Gladys Day, Fannie Whitmire, and Ethel Burrell.

She is survived by her loving son, James Whitmire of Silsbee; grandchildren, Kim Whitmire Hall of Kountze, and Bubba Whitmire of Evadale; great-granddaughter, Jame’ Whitmire of Evadale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jeff Gravis. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
