Obituary of Alice May Day

Mrs. Alice May Day of Evadale, Texas, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 28 days.

Born February 26, 1941, in Evadale, Texas, to parents Carnelius Jefferson Prine and Edna Murphey Prine, she had been a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Day enjoyed cooking and hosting/participating in family gatherings. She loved her children and grandchildren and found great joy in sewing for them as well as just making sure they were all taken care of. Alice had a passion for decorating her house as well as shopping. Flowers and gardening also had a special place in her life.

Alice and C.W. Day were married for 42 years before his death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chrissy Tennille Day; a sister, Hazel Pickett; brothers, Carnelius Jefferson Prine Jr. and Bobby Lee Prine; and a half-brother, Robert Douglas Clark.

Her survivors include: son, Gregory Oneal “Buddy” Day and wife Gay; son, Clifton Weldon Day and Melissa; granddaughter, Bridget Amanda Aldridge and husband Joshua; granddaughter, Abby Lynette Riley and husband Daniel; great-granddaughter, Jemma Ryan Aldridge; sister, Leora Ivy and husband Roger; sister, Mary Earl Varela; brother, Ricky Don Prine and wife Sue; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Day officiating. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery, located on County Road 777 near Buna, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Aldridge, Daniel Riley, Nathan Prine, Shane Prine, Waylon Prine, and Dalton Rowe.
