Obituary of Barbara Evelyn Chambliss

Barbara Evelyn Chambliss, 84, of Silsbee, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Pine Arbor Nursing Home. She was born November 21, 1934 in Beaumont, TX. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 60 years. Barbara was very family oriented, she loved spending her time with her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook, her specialties were Roast, chicken and dumplings, and homemade yeast rolls. She enjoyed working outside and tending to her garden and taking care of her plants and flowers. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Trumon Chambliss; father, Archie Carnley; mother, Jessie Lucas; brothers, Gene Carnley, Ray Carnley, and J. N. Lucas; sisters, Patricia Wright, Dorothy McBride, Jerrie McGallion, and Carolyn Roy.

She is survived by her loving children, Sheryl Smith and husband, Donny of Gary, TX, Alan Chambliss and wife Cindy of Victor, CO, and Randy Chambliss and wife, Latricia of Silsbee; siblings, James Carnley and wife Shirley of Battleground, WA, Gloria Dailey of Beaumont, Steve Carnley of Silsbee, Doylene Peterson and husband Charles of Cleveland, TX, and Paul Lucas of Toledo Bend; grandsons, Jacob Chambliss of Silsbee, Joshua Chambliss of Silsbee, and Justin Chambliss of Silsbee; and a great-grandson, Jace Chambliss of Silsbee; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday January 3, 2019 at Farmer Funeral Home, officiated by Ed Caswell. Interment will follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Kirbyville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Chambliss, Joshua Chambliss, Justin Chambliss, Dominic Bryant, Ray Carnley, and Tracy Peterson.
