Obituary of Barbara Jane Emerson
Barbara Jane Emerson, 60, of Lumberton, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019.
Barbara was a devoted mother to her kids Shelly, Michael, and Tisha and a loving NaNa to all of her grand babies. Barbara was the most selfless woman we know. Her days began and ended worrying about her kids and grandkids’ happiness and wellbeing no matter what trials she faced in her own life. They ALWAYS came first. She also made sure her grand babies had tons of fun at NaNa’s. “No” was not an option. Ice cream for dinner...”sure!” Umbrella fights in the house... “absolutely!” Their happiness brought her great joy. Her pride would shine anytime she spoke of them and all they accomplished. Barbara was a woman of perseverance- a true warrior. She was definitely dynamite in a small package. Her roads were rocky but she always pushed through. A “never quit” attitude she passed on to her kids. She was a great friend to many and honest to a fault. She loved fiercely and for that we are all greater. Barbara will be missed dearly but forever in our hearts.
Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Misty Lynn Emerson; parents, Mac and Anne McRoberts; brother, Jerry Don McRoberts; and nephew, Ray Lynn McRoberts.
