Obituary of Larry Daigle

Mr. Larry Daigle, 63, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel in Silsbee with burial following at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee.  Bro. Stacy Denmon will be officiating. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the funeral home.

Larry was born in Beaumont, Texas, on May 2, 1955, to Joseph Liness and Bernadine Daigle. He was a police officer for 32 years with the Silsbee Police Department, retiring in 2011 as Assistant Chief. Larry was a longtime servant and pillar in this community. He was often seen around town visiting his friends at local businesses and he never met a stranger.

Larry was a family man and enjoyed being surrounded by his children and his grand-babies. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, making sausage and boudain, driving his tractor, listening to his cajun music and helping others. He was loved tremendously and will be missed my many.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Phyllis Daigle of Silsbee; daughters, Sarah Gordon and husband Donnie of Silsbee, Katie Ball of Kilgore, Emily Bellamy of Carthage and Amanda Weathington and husband Reno of Silsbee; grandchildren, Kayden Weathington and Collin Weathington, Maelyn Moulder and K’Lynn Cheshire, Nolan Ball and Riley Gordon; brothers, Glen Daigle and wife Rhonda of Cleveland and Roger Daigle and wife Lynnette and Barry Daigle and wife Nita, all of Silsbee; sisters, Jeanette Durman and Patsy Gerngross and husband Gary, all of Silsbee, Helen Alexander and partner Tom of Conroe and Donna Roy and husband Paul of Port Arthur; godchild, Rodney Daigle of Kirbyville; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Barry Daigle, Glen Daigle, Roger Daigle, Rodney Daigle, Donnie Gordon, Reno Weathington, Eric Manuel and Tommy Bartosh. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Butler, Bill Livingston and Kenny Davenport.
