Obituary of Clifton Callaway

Mr. Clifton Callaway of Fred, Texas, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, at Liberty Health Care Center in Liberty, Texas, at the age of 77 years 5 months, and 19 days.

Born September 22, 1941, in Fred, Texas, he had been a lifelong area resident. Clifton was a proud veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He had worked in various jobs, usually related with the oil and gas industry.

Clifton was an avid outdoorsman, having spent countless hours hunting and fishing. He had also enjoyed farming and gardening. Having a knack for fixing things, Clifton was always excited to help others. He found great joy working on guns and rods and reels as well as tackling all sorts of projects. He enjoyed playing “42” and other games with family and friends.

His survivors include a son, Clifton Wayne Callaway of Silsbee, Texas; daughters, Cora Christine Langley and husband Wayne Langley of Silsbee, Texas, and Deborah Lynn Callaway and Reed LeBlanc of Port Neches, Texas; sisters, Juanita Grissom of Fred, Texas, Margie Keith and husband Kenneth of Marble Falls, Texas, and Kaye Hollyfield and husband Gurney of Silsbee, Texas; a brother, Otis Callaway of Fred, Texas; a grandson, Richard Eldon Callaway of Martin’s Mill, Texas; granddaughters, Nichole Agnew and husband Jacob of Silsbee, Texas, and Jamie Danielle Nunn of Port Neches, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Skeeter and Irene Callaway; and a great-granddaughter, Emalynn Angel Callaway.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home, located at 415 N. Fourth Street in Silsbee, Texas.

Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor C.W. Lawrence of Wiley Mae Community Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, located on FM 92 South of Fred, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Matt Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Ronnie Cravy, Chad Crawford, Kenneth Allen, Billy Foxworth, Ron Cravy, and Clint Callaway.
