Obituary of Gary William Levins

Mr. Gary William Levins of Fred, Texas, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 28, 2019, at West Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Austin, Texas, at the age of 71 years, 3 months, and 13 days.

Mr. Levins was born December 15, 1947, in Silsbee, Texas, and had been a longtime area resident. He graduated from Silsbee High School in 1959. He married Juanita Levins 1975, and they lived together in Fred, Texas. Together they raised two children. 

He leaves as his legacy his sons and grandchildren: Waylon Levins and his ex-wife Karen and their daughter Trinity; Elvin and Sara Levins and their boys Sonny and Oliver. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Zelma Fay Levins, his father Edward Levins and his ex-wife Juanita Levins.

A loving father, Gary was a Pipe Design Draftsman working for Matrix Engineering in the petrochemical industry until he retired in 2002. An avid fisherman and hunter with a passion for the outdoors and nature. He was a lover of music, blues music in particular. Gary played bass guitar throughout the 1970s and 80s in many of the local bands. He was a kind and beloved Grandfather.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel, located at 415 N. Fourth St. in Silsbee, Texas. 

A Celebration of Life memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel.
