Obituary of Edward Graham "Duke" Kennedy

Edward Graham “Duke” Kennedy, 85, of Silsbee, passed away, Thursday, April 11, 2019. He was born December 20, 1933 in Port Arthur, TX. Edward was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to his garden and mowing the grass. He retired after 32 years of service at Houston Chemical. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. There was always music in his house, and he was a great dancer. He was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, 5 kids, and many grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alma Kennedy; son, Donald Edward Kennedy; and brothers, Bud McFadden, Howard McFadden, A.V. McFadden, and Joseph Kennedy.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carol Kennedy; kids, Greg Kennedy and wife Julie, Jimmy Kennedy and wife, Sonomi, Mark Kennedy and wife Alice, Teresa Barbay and husband, Buddy; daughter-in-law, Katie Kennedy; 12 grandkids; and 6 great-grandkids.

His family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2019 at St. Mark Catholic Church of Silsbee, officiated by Reverend Andy Moore. The interment will follow at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton Edward Barbay, Mark Kennedy, Kyle Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, and Michael Kennedy.
