Obituary of Lee Chapman Holland Jr.

Lee Chapman Holland, Jr., age 92, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at Midway Baptist Church in Kountze, Texas on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 3:00 PM, with Brother Dan Dulany and Brother Thomas McGarity officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Services are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home.                                                 

Lee was born Monday, December 27, 1926, in Colmesneil, Texas to parents, Lurley (Matthews) Holland and Lee Chapman Holland, Sr. Lee and his wife, Billye, were residents of Lumberton, Texas. Lee attended Lamar University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. From there, he went to work for an industrial company in Port Neches, Texas called, Neches Butane, that later became Huntsman. Lee was a very hard worker and was very proud to provide for his family. He retired from Huntsman and went on to spend the rest of his life enjoying time spent with his family and friends. Lee met the love of his life when he came to know, Billye (Graves). The couple spent 61 blissful years together and had three children, all of whom brought them continuous joy. He was very involved in church and spent many years as a deacon at 11th Street Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas, as well as, Silsbee Baptist Church. Lee and his wife are proud members of Midway Baptist Church in Kountze, Texas, where they spent ample time being involved in church activities and being in attendance for church services and serving the Lord. He had a great love for the outdoors, as he enjoyed going camping, hunting, fishing and working in his yard. Lee also enjoyed just getting in his vehicle and driving around, enjoying the day. His wife, children and grandchildren were the light of his life and he loved them very much. Lee was also a Veteran who served in the United States Army after World War II in occupied Japan.  

Lee was a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Lurley and Lee C. Holland, Sr.; brother, Charles Holland and sister, Sybil Seamans. 

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Billye Holland; children, Claudia Hallmark, Brian Holland and wife Kathy and Kevin Holland; grandchildren, Leona Evans, Jesse Holland, Bridget Holland, Loveda Evans and Ava Holland; Six great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. 

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeff Clack, Hicks Dunlap, Wayne Fridelle, Jesse Holland, Wayne Long, Charlie Reed. Honorary Pallbearer will be Randy Brown.
