Obituary of Robert William Kucker

Robert William Kucker, age 76, of Buna, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Arrangements were made under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 2:00 PM, at First Assembly of God in Kirbyville, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas.

Robert was born June 22, 1942, in Cleburne, Texas to parents, Nellie Irene (Fletcher) Kucker and JD Kucker. He was a long-time resident of Buna, Texas. Robert made a career as a Minister, preaching the word of God. He started preaching in nursing homes when he was 15 years old and from there, his career flourished. Robert pastored 6 churches and was an interim preacher at 18 other churches after his retirement from Buna First Assembly of God. When he was younger, he served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam and was a very proud and patriotic veteran. Robert met the love of his life when he met Linda (Lawson) Kucker. The couple shared 55 blissful years together and he absolutely adored his wife. Robert and Linda loved to travel and did so every chance that they got. The two traveled to every state in the United States, with the exception of Iowa and North Dakota, as well as at least 8 foreign countries. Linda and Robert had two daughters, Teresa and Kimberley, whom both brought them copious amounts of joy. Robert loved his family more than words could ever describe. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved to go fishing and camping anytime he could go. He was also a wonderful and very talented musician and singer. Robert always put God first in his life and never took his eyes off the cross. He was a true man of God and an excellent example of how a Christian should be. Robert was a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother and father, JD Kucker and Nellie Irene Kucker; sister, Linda Kucker Sleeper; brother, John Kucker and sister, Sonja Kucker McCollum.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Ruth Lawson Kucker; sister, Carolyn Kucker Flournoy and husband James; daughter, Teresa Kucker Obert and husband Fred; daughter, Kimberley Kucker Ayres and husband Kendall; grandchildren, Anna Ayres, Morgan Johnson, Micah Ayres and Jayden Neal;    great grandchildren, Brynlee Ayres and Bruce Johnson.
