Obituary of Barbara Ann Stanley
Barbara Ann Stanley, age 71, of Kountze, Texas, passed away June 10, 2019. Barbara was born on July 14, 1947 in Port Neches, Texas to parents Nona Mae (Cawley) Davis and James Cecil Davis. A private family gathering has been planned.
Barbara was a caretaker from the beginning. Her children were her life. She was an active participant as her children were growing up. Her life always revolved around her family and children. She hardly ever missed an event, whether it be her son’s baseball games or daughter’s many activities. When her children were grown and she was laid off from her outside job, God put it on her heart to stay home and help care for and spoil all of her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She found such joy in taking care of her family and those around her. She was married to her loving husband, Tom, for 52 years. He was the gardener and she was the one who prepared the harvest in special ways and loved blessing others with their homemade creations. She was the family’s cook for all gatherings. Not only did she cook one dish, she went all out by cooking many different wonderful goodies. Her homemade cakes always brought a special touch to any occasion. Baseball was one of Barbara’s favorite past times. She loved to go to the kid’s baseball games and watch the games on TV. Barbara and Tom had a passion for volunteering. Giving their time at the Christian Loving Care Center was very special to her. Both Barbara and Tom were active members of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Kountze, Texas. Their church family was another extension of how Barbara was a faithful Servant of God. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will cherish all of the many memories of Barbara’s presence in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C and Nona Mae Davis.
Left to honor Barbara’s memory is her beloved husband of 52 years, Thomas Stanley; son, Randy Stanley and wife, Dawn, of Village Mills, TX; daughter, Sheri Dietz of Nederland, TX; Brother, J.C Davis and wife, Lynn, of Port Neches, TX; Grandchildren, Brady Dietz, Brooke Schexnider and husband, Jeremy, Tristan Stanley and wife, Kimmy, Justan Stanley, Kirstan Stanley; Great grandchildren, Eli, Issac, Sarah, Sophia, Abigail; and nieces and nephews.
