Obituary of Marie Bumstead Neely

Marie Bumstead Neely, 92, of Webster, formally of Silsbee, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019. Marie was born on June 2, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas, to her parents, Claude and Pearl Bumstead. She married Emery Neely on March 14, 1942. Marie was a charter member of Fletcher Emanuel Baptist Church of Lumberton, where she served in the church nursery and teaching Sunday school. She was very generous in donating to various church missions. Marie will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Emery Neely; parents, Claude and Pearl Bumstead; son-in-law, Donn Jacobs.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lewis and husband, Don of Livingston, TX, Lynda O’Dell and husband, Butch of Austin, TX, Chriss Mazon and husband, Gary of Seabrook, TX, and Terri Jacobs of League City; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren; brother, J. W. Bumstead; sisters, Shirley Brown, Cynthia Isaacks, and Margaret Sessums; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow, officiated by Reverend Richard Vaughn and Joe Crawford. Interment will follow at Bumstead Cemetery in Lumberton. Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Neely’s grandsons.
