Obituary of Johnny Fay Hitchcock, Sr.

Johnny Fay Hitchcock Sr., 70 of Silsbee, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Johnny was born December 15, 1948 in Pell City, AL. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He never met a stranger and was always bumping into friends wherever he went. He fought the good fight and keep his sense of humor until the end.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Mildred Hitchcock; sister, Wylan Burger; brothers, Jack Hitchcock, and Wayne Hitchcock; and a son, Johnny Fay Hitchcock, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Sue Hitchcock of Silsbee; children, Cathy Robison of Biloxi, MS, Melissa Battles and husband, Duane of Silsbee, David Sterling and wife Charla of Buna, Shane Sterling and wife Michelle of Fannett; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Judy Smith and husband, Jerry of UT, Dean Hitchcock and wife Susie of AL, James Hitchcock and wife, Kim of Austin, and Chere Rice of NE; numerous nieces and nephews, including Pete Paradies.

His family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Sunday July 7, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Farmer Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Roosevelt Henry. Interment will follow at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Sterling, Duane Battles, Daniel Sterling, Stephen Sterling, Shane Sterling, Peter Paradies, Randy Robison, and Connor Robison.
