Obituary of Shirley Jean Lewis

Shirley Jean Lewis, 83, of Lumberton, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019. She was born February 11, 1936 in Houston, TX.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving Dell Crossword Puzzles. Shirley adored her grandchildren; they were her world. She also enjoyed her Dr Peppers and Hershey’s Chocolate. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; Doris Alan and Mary Ann Herridge; husband, Marvin Lewis; daughters, Mona Lewis, and Brenda Ashy; sister Rosemary Alexander; brother, Maxy Neal Herridge.

She is survived by her children, Marvin Dean Lewis and wife, Debbie of Austin, Steven Glen Lewis of Lumberton, and Robyn Zenette Doucet and husband, Ronnie of Lumberton; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home, Tuesday July 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 10, 2019 at Farmer Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Chad West. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Guillory, Jayson Guillory, Brian Langley, Christopher Lewis, Chris Asta and Kevin Herrington. Honorary pallbearer is Rusty Smith.
