Obituary of John Dwain Lindsey
John Dwain Lindsey, 75, of Spurger, formerly of Silsbee, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pineland, TX, on September 20, 1943. He was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed baseball, football, and basketball. He coached Little League in Silsbee for many years. John also enjoyed watching his westerns. John loved and valued his family and he loved spending his time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Ella Lindsey; parents, Cecil and Vivian Lindsey; sisters, Billie Jean Humble, Helen Lindsey, Gladys Williams, Mildred Jackson; and brother, Paul Lindsey.
John is survived by his loving children, Ricky Lindsey of Spurger, David Lindsey, Sr. and wife, Angie of Buna, Sherry Lindsey of Spurger, and Greg Lindsey of Spurger; grandchildren, Jeremy Lindsey, David Lindsey, Jr., Katherine Lindsey, Cesna Lindsey, Jamé Whitmire, and Vivian Lindsey; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Doris Litchfield and husband, Tootie of Nederland, and Cecil Lindsey and wife Debbie of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home Sunday August 4, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 :00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2019 at Farmer Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow at Cunningham Cemetery in Silsbee.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Laurent, Sean Humble, Andy Wheeler, Travis Harris, Justin Harris, and Steven Laurent.
