Obituary of Iva Janelle Christian

Iva Janelle Christian, 84, of Silsbee, left this earthly home to walk with Jesus on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. She was a member of Woodrow Baptist Church of Silsbee. She was a stay at home mom who raised 7 children of her own, as well as countless others who were given to her by the grace of God. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Luther Christian; parents, Earlie and Cleo Ferguson; and grandson, Steven Mazac.

She is survived by her loving children, Kay Cartrett and husband, Dr. Doyce Cartrett of Silsbee, Candy Mazac and husband, Steve Mazac of Wimberley, Cyndi Purcell of Silsbee, Jamie “Sherri” Mouton of Evadale, Patti Moel and husband, Scooter Moel of Kirbyville, James Christian and wife, Penny Christian of Evadale, and Amy Worsham and husband, Donald Worsham of Conroe; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter; and innumerable others who were claimed by heart.

The family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Farmer Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Bernard Stott. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery in Buna.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sam Christian, Joshua Christian, John Cartrett, Gabriel Mouton, Elliott Moel, and Jesse Loredo.
