Obituary of Dana Viola Van Brocklin

Dana Viola Van Brocklin, 91, of Lumberton, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019. She was born in Canton, TX on August 31, 1927. She was known as the Glass Lady of Lumberton with her business at Larry’s Antique Mall for many years. Dana was self-sacrificing for her children, as well as strong, courageous, hard-working, and stubborn. Above all else, she was a loving mother and she was very protective of her children and family, even well into their adult years. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Anthony Van Brocklin; daughter, Leona Ovelia “Nonie” Van Brocklin Weber; and 4 siblings.

Dana is survived by her loving children, Claudia Van Brocklin Darby of Lumberton, Ginger Van Brocklin Studensky of Kirbyville, Nan Van Brocklin Davis of Lumberton, Raymond Anthony Van Brocklin II and wife Joanne of Lumberton, Cindy Brooks and husband, Jerry of Lumberton, Roger Van Brocklin and wife Debra of Lumberton, Randall Brian Van Brocklin and wife, Vickie of Kountze; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Farmer Funeral Home on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Farmer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. Concord Cemetery in Zavalla, TX.
