Johnnie George Cardwell born December 7, 1941, passed away peacefully at the age of 77, on August 22, 2019 at 6 pm, in Plano, Texas, with both his children at his side. Johnnie was a proud and active member of the Lutheran Church of DeWitt Arkansas.

He was predeceased by his parents, Johnnie and Nadia Cardwell; younger sister, Beatrice Bearden; niece, Brandy Kay Philmon; wife and mother of his children, Ruby Lee Busley Cardwell, and, 16 years later, his first love and wife Patsy Young Cardwell.

Surviving family includes his son, Zaron J Cardwell, wife Rea Anne and their children Randy, Annjello, & Jeadenn of Plano Texas; daughter, Zenia Whittaker and her children Carlos Jr., Kayla, Caiden, and Vaughn; along with his great grandchild Cylus of the Cayman Islands. He was also survived by his brother, William Cardwell of Port Neches, Texas, and sister, Nadia Philmon of Silsbee, Texas, as well as two nieces and three nephews.

The family would like to take this time to thank those of Dewitt, Arkansas, that were closest to Johnnie, particularly over the last year and a half. A special mention to Pastor Chad Phillips of the Lutheran Church of Dewitt, and to a man that quickly became family, Mr. Jim Tucker. Jim lived next door to Johnnie for a number of years, and in the hardest of times Jim never hesitated to help no matter the time of day/night or circumstance.
