Obituary of Gary Edwin Marsh

Gary Edwin Marsh, age 74, of Buna, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas, with Brother Tracy A. Lane officiating. Interment will immediately follow services at Weeks Chapel Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Gary was born on Wednesday, May 30, 1945, in Monticello, Florida to parents, Mary Helen (Harrell) Marsh and John Raymond Marsh. Gary was a very hard worker and was very loved by everyone that he met along the way. He worked as a brick mason at Beaumont Brick and Stone, as well as a few other places. Gary was a true family man who enjoyed spending quality time with his loved ones every chance that he got. He never missed a practice or a ball game for any of his grandsons in Buna or Silsbee. When his daughter, Sonya, was younger, they made many wonderful memories together while traveling all over the country together for her to rodeo. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman who just genuinely loved the outdoors. He loved to garden and more specifically grow fruit trees such as pear and satsuma trees. When he got the chance to, he enjoyed traveling back home to Montciello, Florida to visit. Gary was a son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Suzanne Marshall and husband Daryl of Silsbee, Texas, as well as, Sonya Cox and husband Michael; grandchildren, Gary Wayne Orsak and wife Amanda, Kyle Orsak, Tanner Cox and wife BreeAnn, as well as Brody Cox; step-grandaughter; Catina Foreman and husband Dustin; great grandchildren, Bryce Orsak, DanniVon Orsak, Phoenix Orsak, Peyton Orsak, and step-great grandson, Slayton Foreman; brother, Danny Marsh and sister, Dianne Humphery, as well as, the mother of his children, Mary Presley.

Gary is preceded by his mother and father, Helen and Raymond Marsh, as well as his brother, Jeffery Marsh.
